Sant'Angelo Limosano: history, monuments and hospitality

Symbols

The emblem of Sant'Angelo Limosano consists of an angel stepping on a serpent while holding a sword and a balance scale against a blue background. Granted in the 1970s, it represents the fight between good and evil.

Monuments and places of interest

If you visit Sant'Angelo Limosano, you can't miss the medieval ramparts that lead to the parish church. These fortifications, with three levels and decorated with arches, were used as access walls. Also, the Church of Santa Maria Assunta in Cielo, founded in the 13th century as a chapel dedicated to Pietro da Morrone, is still an unmissable attraction today. The church was restored in Baroque style in 1695, but still retains a beautiful medieval wooden tabernacle and a part of medieval masonry with a Latin inscription.
