Sant'Albano Stura
The city of Sant'Albano Stura
Hello friends! Today I want to introduce you to Sant'Albano Stura, a beautiful Italian municipality located in the province of Cuneo, in Piedmont. This city has a population of around 2372 inhabitants and is characterized by its triangular shape. It is located in the lower Granda province, on the banks of the Stura di Demonte river, just 5 kilometers from Fossano and 15 kilometers from Cuneo and Mondovì. Sant'Albano also includes the hamlets of Dalmazzi, Ceriolo, and Consovero, with the latter being shared with the municipality of Morozzo. The city is full of history and culture, with numerous eighteenth-century palaces located in this rural area.
History of Sant'Albano Stura
The earliest written sources indicate Sant'Albano as part of the Bredulo county "between Tanaro and Stura". Over the centuries, the bishops of Asti owned both the spiritual and temporal lordship of Sant'Albano, and this fact led to conflicts between communal coalitions. In 1402, Sant'Albano passed under the control of the Savoy, with the intention of definitively incorporating the territory into the Savoy state. The city was also infeudated to a family of knights from Savigliano, the Beggiamo, who shaped the communal territory.

Culture and industry
Sant'Albano is known for its chemical industry and the large number of agricultural and artisanal companies present here. The city offers a great variety of high-quality products, such as salami, cheeses, and wines, all locally produced. To visit these treasures, it is recommended to take a walk through the city and stop at one of the local shops.
What to see in Sant'Albano Stura
If you are nature lovers, I recommend visiting the beautiful park of the Palazzo di Sant'Albano, located near Via Fossano. The park slopes gently towards the river, creating a breathtaking scenery. In addition, a visit to the church of Sant'Albano is a must. This church has a millenary history and contains many testimonies of the life of the city.
Events and traditions
Every year in Sant'Albano, the patronal feast in honor of St. John the Baptist is celebrated. During this event, the city comes alive with music, dances, and good food. Furthermore, the city has a special bond with Trinità, a nearby village, and often tells a local joke that teases the rivalry between the two villages.
