Hello everyone! Today I'll be talking about Collelungo, a small hamlet in the municipality of San Venanzo, located in the province of Terni. Collelungo is only 4 km from the main town and is inhabited by 32 people. If you like peace and nature, this is the ideal place to spend a few days!

Physical geography

The village is located near the Fossatone stream, a tributary of the Nestore River on the right bank. Here you can admire breathtaking scenery and enjoy a walk along the river banks.

History

Collelungo has a very ancient history and its original name was "Villa collis longis". In the thirteenth century it came under the authority of the city of Orvieto and became an important outpost dominating the Tiber valley. In 1816, Collelungo was merged with the municipality of San Venanzo.

Economy and events

The territory of Collelungo is mainly dedicated to agritourism, agriculture and livestock farming. If you're looking for good food and fresh, genuine products, don't miss the local farms! In addition, during the summer period, there are several cultural and gastronomic events, such as the festival of roast pork and wine festival.
