Pedemonte's Feature

Pedemonte is a hamlet of the municipality of San Pietro in Cariano, located along the southeastern border of the municipality, connecting San Pietro in Cariano to the east with the municipality of Negrar and to the south with Verona. It is a small but densely populated village located just eight kilometers from the gates of Verona. Many city residents moved to Pedemonte to enjoy country life.

The main access road to Valpolicella, Provincial Road No. 4, which was built in 1958, crosses Pedemonte, increasing the traffic of people moving from the city and vice versa, making it often considered a passing town. Nevertheless, Pedemonte is internationally renowned for the magnificent Villa Serego, designed by Andrea Palladio.

Events

Pedemonte is famous for hosting various festivals throughout the year. Between late July and early August, the Sagra is held, a popular fest with live music and wine and food stalls, dedicated to San Rocco, the patron saint of the village. Between April 25th and May 1st, the traditional "Festa dei vini classici della Valpolicella" takes place. Within the festival, there are many events related to the world of Valpolicella wines, including the "Magnalonga," a wine and food walk through the hills, which attracts thousands of enthusiasts from all over Italy and abroad.
