Religious Architecture

Like many villages in Trentino, San Lorenzo Dorsino has numerous ancient and picturesque churches. Among them, the Church of Santa Maria Assunta stands out with its richly decorated altar, the Church of San Lorenzo in San Lorenzo in Banale, with its tall and slender bell tower, the Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Caravaggio in Deggia, where a statue of the Virgin attracts faithful from all over, the Church of Saints Sebastian and Rocco in Pergnano, built in Baroque style with its mirrored façade, and the Church of San Giorgio in Dorsino, featuring a 15th-century bell tower.

Civil Architecture

San Lorenzo Dorsino also boasts an important civil structure: the Municipal Theater. This early 20th-century Liberty-style building has recently been restored and still offers a program of shows ranging from operas to comedy.

Demographic Evolution

The municipality was born in 2015, the result of the merger of San Lorenzo in Banale and Dorsino, two farming communities that developed from the Middle Ages. The inhabitants of San Lorenzo Dorsino are very attached to their origins and their tradition, as demonstrated by the numerous cultural events organized over the years.
