San Didero
San Didero, a picturesque municipality in the Susa Valley
San Didero is located in the Susa Valley, in the metropolitan city of Turin, in Piedmont, and is populated by approximately 575 people. The name of the village comes from Ecclesia Sancti Desiderii, which means "church of San Desiderio". The municipality was a fiefdom under the dominion of several noble families in the area, such as the Bertrandi and the Grosso di Bruzolo.

San Didero is located on the left bank of the Dora Riparia, in the Susa Valley.
Monuments and places of interest in the municipality
The church of San Desiderio is one of the most important buildings in the municipality. It is one of the few churches in the Susa Valley that still retains the medieval external profile. The San Didero fortress, located on the slope of the village, is another tourist attraction of the place. It is one of the few structures of this type of public property in the lower Susa Valley, and the municipality has started planning a restoration and re-functionalization project as a bed & breakfast. In addition, the Via Francigena passes through San Didero and represents a tourist destination for pilgrims.

Demographic evolution and its administration
The number of inhabitants of San Didero has steadily decreased in recent years, however, the municipality is still part of the Valle Susa and Val Sangone Mountain Community.
