History
The first mention of the San Clemente Castle dates back to 962, when Otto I of Saxony donated the territory to the Carpegna counts. The castle then passed to the Malatesta until 1504, when it was acquired by the Republic of Venice. In 1508, the Holy See ceded it to the Municipality of Rimini.
