The Story of Salmour

Salmour is an Italian municipality located in the province of Cuneo, in Piedmont. Its history dates back to the medieval period, when it was a fiefdom of the Tesauro family, counts of Salmour. The family built the eponymous villa, which later passed to the Gabaleone family. During the fascist period, in 1940, the name of the municipality was Italianized to "Salmore", but in 1951 the original name was restored.
