Ruffrè-Mendola

Discover Ruffré-Mendola: the town that combines history, culture and sports

Hello friends, today I will take you to discover this small Trentino municipality of 429 inhabitants located just a stone's throw from the border with the autonomous province of Bolzano: Ruffré-Mendola, or as it's called in Nones dialect ''Rufré-Méndola''.

Monuments and places of interest

The first place I recommend you visit is the Church of Sant'Antonio, the parish church of Ruffré. This religious building dates back to the 15th century and has recently been restored and inaugurated for worship.

Ruffré-Mendola: History, Culture, and Sports in Trentino.

Society

An interesting fact over time regarding demographic evolution is that until 2005 the municipality was called just ''Ruffré'', but since then it has become a scattered municipality.

Culture

If you are lucky enough to visit the village during the Christmas season, you will find cribs set up in various farmhouses as tradition dictates.

Infrastructure and transport

In the past, from 1909 to 1934, there was a stop of the Dermulo-Fondo-Mendola Tramway in Ruffré.

Administration

As far as administrative management is concerned, there is no big news to report.

Sports

Now let's move on to one of the parts that I personally like the most: sports! Here in Ruffré you can ski on Monte Nock, which has a black and a red slope, which can be accessed via a two-seater chairlift.

Furthermore, Monte Nock is illuminated, allowing you to ski at night. Are you ready to experience the thrill of descending at breakneck speed with only the light of the stars in the background?

And that's not all! Many giant and special slalom races are organized on both slopes, as they are approved by FISI.

But if you're looking for something more challenging, a few kilometers from Ruffré, towards the Passo della Mendola and Monte Roen, we find another very interesting ski lift. The departure is at 1368 m a.s.l. and the arrival at 1594 m a.s.l. with a length of 1371 meters. There's a blue slope of 1575 meters and the ascent on foot, with snowshoes or with mountaineering skis, to the top of Monte Roen.

Conclusion

Here is our brief visit to Ruffré-Mendola. I hope this information will be useful if you decide to visit this small municipality in Trentino. There are many things to do: culture, sports and much more. What are you waiting for? Come and visit us!
