Rogolo, a small municipality in Valtellina
Hello everyone! Today I want to talk to you about Rogolo, an Italian municipality with a population of 564 in the province of Sondrio, Lombardy. The village is located in the lower Valtellina, about 32 kilometers west of Sondrio. The territory of Rogolo extends from the valley to the top of the mountain, reaching a maximum height of 2,495 meters above sea level. The total height difference is 2,290 meters, making it a great destination for hiking enthusiasts. The winter climate in Rogolo is very cold, but in summer the village can reach temperatures of 30 degrees Celsius. In the autumn a monsoon wind blows, making the climate cooler, while in the spring (which only arrives in mid-March) the houses at the foot of the mountain are kissed by the sun.
History of Rogolo
The flag of Rogolo consists of a blue and white divided cloth. The village has a long history, having belonged for centuries to the diocese of Como.
Population evolution
Like many other municipalities in the mountainous areas of Italy, Rogolo has undergone a progressive depopulation over the years. However, the village continues to attract tourists and nature lovers.
