Monuments and places of interest
Parish Church
The parish church of Sant'Antonio Abate, built between 1663 and 1664, is a shining example of religious architecture in the area. Its construction followed that of an older chapel dating back to the 13th century.
Spinola Palace
The Spinola Palace, commissioned by the lord of the Roccaforte Ligure fiefdom Napoleone IV Spinola in 1650, represents today the cultural hub of the city. After being uninhabited and unused after 1797, it is now home to the City Hall and the Resistance and Social Life Museum in Val Borbera "Giambattista Lazagna", whose name refers to the partisan who was the leading figure in the liberation struggle in the area.
The Salt Road
Along the ancient salt road that departs from the village, various fifteenth-century buildings are encountered, known as "I Marughi", pre-existing the New Village of Rocchetta Ligure. These are very rustic and charming houses, whose Valle Sisola door was also a place for paying customs duties.
The "Giambattista Lazagna" Resistance Museum
The Resistance and Social Life Museum in Val Borbera, established in 1990 by the municipality and the Piedmont Region, preserves photographic images, weapons, bullets and every type of object used in the past by the partisans of the area. The Museum also offers a didactic path, with chronological illustrations of texts and photos related to the phases of the Liberation War from 1943 to 1945.
Palazzo Tassorello former hospital
Palazzo Tassorello Hospital was born thanks to the joint efforts of Savona Tito Tosonotti and lawyer Luciano Pertica of Rocchetta. The hospital, inaugurated on August 13, 1944, remained in operation until the end of the war, treating both partisans and Nazi-fascists.
