San Giacomo di Roburent is a warm and charming hamlet with 247 inhabitants, located in the province of Cuneo, at 1,011 meters above sea level. The location is renowned as a skiing destination within the Monregalese ski resort; an area that extends from the slopes of Bric Colmè to Mount Alpet, with about 36 kilometers of ski slopes and six chairlifts. But San Giacomo di Roburent is not just a beautiful natural scenery, but also a place rich in history and interesting monuments.

San Giacomo di Roburent boasts a valuable religious architecture. The parish church of Giacomo il Maggiore is a rare example of Baroque style, built in 1735 designed by architect Francesco Gallo. Here, the faithful gather to pray to the Apostle James. In the past, there was a votive pillar where the church is now located.

Culture

San Giacomo di Roburent is a tourist destination that offers events for all tastes. Among these, the Feast of Giacomo il Maggiore, on July 25th, is a special occasion to participate in local religious celebrations. In addition, in October, during the chestnut harvesting season, the famous Castagnata is organized.

Infrastructure and transport

San Giacomo di Roburent is connected to the municipal center of Roburent by the 183 provincial road, with the 35 provincial road to Montaldo di Mondovì, towards the west, and the 178 provincial road to Pamparato, to the east. The Mondovì station is the closest stop on the Turin-Fossano-Savona railway line, while the Niella Tanaro exit on the A6 motorway is the most convenient motorway exit.

Sports

San Giacomo di Roburent is also known as a stage of the 1977 Giro d'Italia, concluded with the triumph of Wilmo Francioni.
