Rimella
Welcome to Rimella
Hello everyone! Today I'm taking you on a tour of Rimella, a small town of 130 inhabitants in the province of Vercelli, located in the Val Mastallone. The valley flows into the main valley of Varallo and is crossed by the Landwasser and Enderwasser streams.
A bit of history
The town was founded by Walser populations in the 13th century and still preserves the local language of German origin. Part of the territory of the municipality of Rimella is included in the Alta Valsesia Nature Park. The coat of arms and banner of the municipality of Rimella were granted by decree of the President of the Republic on July 10, 1960.

Society
According to a 2001 survey conducted in Aosta Valley and Northern Piedmont aimed at discovering the current linguistic distribution, 72.1% of the population speaks Italian, 29.4% speaks Walser, while 1.9% speaks a different language as their mother tongue. Nevertheless, 98.4% declared to know Italian, 81.4% Walser, 3.9% Swiss German, and 3.3% German language.

Although Rimella is very small, it still has its local administration that manages its activities.
