Physical geography
Resiutta is situated in a mountain valley that stretches between the Canal del Ferro and the Fella River. The landscape is dominated by the Carnic Alps, which offer breathtaking views and the perfect backdrop for hiking and walking in pristine nature.

Monuments and places of interest
The Church of San Martino Vescovo and the Church of Santa Croce are the most famous and visited places in Resiutta. The former dates back to the 12th century and houses numerous works of art and frescoes, including the altarpiece depicting San Martino. The latter is a more recent church, built in the 18th century in Baroque style. In addition to these two religious structures, the village offers many other picturesque architectures such as wooden and stone houses or traditional farms, which make you want to stop for a while to savor the peace and beauty that the environment offers.
History
Resiutta has played an important role since Roman times, thanks to its position along the Canal del Ferro, an ancient trade route. The Parish of San Martino, established in 1199, testifies to the importance and presence of the center since ancient times. Over the centuries, the village has been the scene of significant historical events, such as the breakthrough of Caporetto during the First World War. However, not everyone knows that just before the end of the war, Austrian troops committed a massacre against some civilians.
Demographic evolution and languages and dialects
Although Resiutta currently has just over 250 permanent inhabitants, it has experienced periods of great growth, such as the end of the 19th and early 20th centuries, when several residents emigrated abroad. Today, Italian is the official language of the village, but it's possible to listen to and speak Friulian, a variant of the Central-Eastern Friulian dialect. Thanks to Deliberation n. 2680 of August 3, 2001, the municipality is included in the list of Italian municipalities of Friulian language for the purposes of the application of Law 482/99, Regional Law 15/96 and Regional Law 29/2007.
Conclusions
In conclusion, Resiutta is a village with a unique character, where nature merges with local history and culture to offer an authentic experience and a connection with the deep roots of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. If you want to escape the chaos of daily life, discover a unique atmosphere and little-known places, Resiutta is the place for you.
