Armaiolo
Welcome to Armaiolo, the Tuscan hamlet of Rapolano Terme!
Located in the province of Siena, Armaiolo is a medieval village with a very interesting history. The territory was under the control of the Berardenga Counts of Asciano, but then the Republic of Siena took control until 1777, when it became an autonomous municipality.
The history of Armaiolo
During the war of Siena in 1554, the Armaiolesi resisted the Spanish but were eventually defeated. However, the fight for their freedom is still a source of pride for the residents.
Things to see in Armaiolo
The Church of San Giovanni Evangelista, the Church of the Compagnia del Corpus Domini, and the Church of San Biagio a Chiusella are the main monuments of the hamlet. They are all worth a visit to admire the frescoes and architecture.
