The historical center of Ranzanico, "ol Volt" is located halfway up a morphological terrace formed by the passage of the Adamello glacier, at an altitude above 500 m above sea level. Instead, "ol Bass" extends along the coast of Lake Endine and is made up of two main residential nuclei: that of Madrera and that of Dosso, now Villaggio Angela Maria.

Geomorphology of Ranzanico

The municipality of Ranzanico is located on the slopes of Monte Quaranta and has three main peaks, Monte Plér, Monte Pizzetto and Monte Sparavera, the highest with its 1,369 m above sea level. The highest part of the territory is characterized by gentle hills and karstic depressions, while the lower strip is represented by a slope with an accentuated gradient, covered by broad-leaved woods. The morphological terrace and the part that slopes towards the lake, instead, is characterized by gentler slopes that have allowed cultivation.

The territory of Ranzanico is characterized by two main rock formations: the Zorzino Limestone and the Riva di Solto Argillite, with outcrops of Porphyrite in some areas. The Zorzino Limestone can be observed in stratified form or as a detrital layer.
