Val di Rabbi is a valley parallel in orientation to Val di Peio and separated from the mountain range of Cima Rossa-Vegaia-Tremenesca-Camocina. The valley has an evident V-shaped formation, with steep wooded and rocky slopes, prairie on the valley floor affected by various cone debris and avalanche channels.

The history of the valley of Rabbi
The history of this alpine valley is quite ancient, dating back to the 10th century. Until 1000 AD, Rabbi had no settlements due to the harshness of the territory. Its jurisdiction belonged to the feudal lords of Castel Caldes and, in particular, to the eldest member of the family. During the European phenomenon of the first assault on natural resources, the settlement arose in the valley and important consortia were created. In 1800, Rabbi became an autonomous municipality that currently does not have a defined center but is composed of several fractions.

Val di Rabbi is made up of several scattered fractions, without a well-defined center. The main fractions are Pracorno, San Bernardo, Piazzola and Rabbi Terme, the latter known for its thermal waters. San Bernardo is the most substantial settlement.
The economy of the valley of Rabbi
Over the years, the people of Rabbi have distinguished themselves in all those jobs related to the agricultural and pastoral world. They were particularly skilled as shepherds, dairy farmers and cheesemakers, the latter profession ensuring authority and respect. Today, Val di Rabbi is characterized by tourism, thanks to the beauty of the landscape and the presence of the thermal waters of Rabbi Terme.
The legend of the valley of Rabbi

It is said that in Rabbi the witches were frolicking around a large boulder and that the restless soul of Grotol, an executioner of the counts of Caldes, frightened people with noises of chains, goat tracks in the snow and rolling rocks towards the farms.
