Puos d'Alpago is a delightful hamlet in the municipality of Alpago in the province of Belluno, Veneto, Italy. Until 2016, Puos was an autonomous municipality together with the hamlets of Bastia, Cornei, Sitran, Sommacosta, and Valzella. Today it is part of the new municipality of Alpago, along with the former municipalities of Farra d'Alpago and Pieve d'Alpago.
Where is Puos d'Alpago located?
The center of Puos is located in the center of the Alpago basin, between the right bank of the Tesa stream and the hill of S. Pietro. It was the only partially mountainous municipality in the province, unlike the other entirely mountainous municipalities.

Puos was first attested in 1210 as "Posio." It was an important center for the fair of animals and agricultural products, with activities documented for the first time in 1583 during the festival of San Bartolomeo Apostolo. The coat of arms of Puos and the blue banner were respectively granted in 1929 and 1972.

The current Church of San Bartolomeo Apostolo was founded in 1825, rebuilt after the earthquake of 1873, and preserves works of art such as the canvas of 1617 by Francesco Frigimelica il Vecchio.

From 1989 to 2001, the contemporary art exhibition called "Portici Inattuali" took place in Sitran d'Alpago. This exhibition was designed to make artists work in a rural environment, in a very distinctive environmental context. The exhibition was then moved to Belluno in 2008.

Puos can be reached via the Strada statale 51 di Alemagna or the A27 motorway. It is about four kilometers away from the railway station that belongs to the Ponte nelle Alpi-Conegliano Railway and can be continued towards Ponte nelle Alpi, Belluno, and the Cadore, or Conegliano-Venice.
