Climate

Origin of Name
The name Preseglie seems to derive from the appeal of slaves working in the mines of Mount Visello. At night, the slaves were gathered in a castrum or castle, presumably located in the current district of Piazza. The slaves called their watchman with the phrase "praesens est ille", and the name of the municipality would have originated from this Latin expression. However, according to another theory, the name would simply derive from the Latin word ''praedium'', meaning farm or rural estate.
History
Preseglie was a center of mining extraction already in Roman and Lombard times. Much of the territory became the property of the bishop of Brescia, along with the existing galena and copper mines in Pirla, Bamboi, and Visello. Over the centuries, several noble families alternated in the control of the mines and the surrounding territories.
Throughout history, Preseglie experienced moments of prosperity and difficulty. In the 18th century, the village was hit by the plague epidemic but managed to recover and rebuild. During the 19th century, the mines disappeared, and the village turned into an agricultural center. Today, Preseglie is a peaceful and serene municipality where nature and history blend to create a unique and suggestive atmosphere.
