Physical geography
Located in the first hill range of eastern Friuli, Premariacco is surrounded by breathtaking natural scenery. The village is crossed by the Natisone river and is connected by a Roman bridge of great historical importance. The municipality also includes the hamlets of Orsaria, Leproso, Ipplis, Azzano, San Mauro, and Paderno, each with unique characteristics. For example, Orsaria hosts a beautiful church dedicated to Saint Ulderico, built in 1905 on the remains of a possible earlier castelliere. The hamlet of Azzano, on the other hand, is part of the Association of Azzano d'Italia along with 10 other municipalities and hamlets that bear the name Azzano.
History
Premariacco has a very rich and interesting history. There are many important personalities who were born in this municipality, including Fiore dei Liberi, a famous fencing master and author of the oldest known fencing treatise, as well as Paolino di Aquileia, venerated by the Catholic Church as a saint. In addition, the local branch of the Italian Red Cross is dedicated to Margherita Kaiser Parodi, a symbol of solidarity and altruism.
Monuments and places of interest
Premariacco is full of fascinating places to visit. One of the symbols of the municipality is the Rocca Bernarda Castle, located in the hamlet of Ipplis. The churches also represent a cultural heritage of great value, such as the Church of Saint Silvestro Pope and the Church of Saint Ulderico. Moreover, walking on the Passarella di Firmano is a unique experience that allows you to admire the Natisone river in all its beauty.
Society
The population of Premariacco is around 3973 inhabitants and speaks, alongside Italian, the Friulian language. This language is part of the variants belonging to central-eastern Friulian, and according to Deliberazione n. 2680 of 3 August 2001 of the Giunta of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Autonomous Region, the Municipality is included in the list of Italian municipalities of Friulian language for the purposes of the application of law 482/99, regional law 15/96 and regional law 29/2007.

The administration of Premariacco is composed of the mayor and the council, with the aim of efficiently managing the municipality and improving the quality of life of its inhabitants.
