Frescada
Introduction
Hello everyone! Today I would like to talk to you about Frescada, a small town located in the province of Treviso, divided between the municipalities of Preganziol, Casier and marginally, Treviso.
History
The toponym of Frescada was already mentioned on March 16, 1288, referring to an ancient inn that displayed a frasca to indicate the sale of wine. However, for centuries Frescada remained a rural area, until the post-World War II period, when urbanization began and it was transformed into a residential neighborhood. Even the ecclesiastical history of Frescada is quite recent, since the church of San Giovanni Battista, which serves as a parish, was consecrated only in 1984 by the bishop of Treviso.
Geographical location
Frescada develops along the Strada statale 13 Pontebbana, sharing some borders with other localities such as San Lazzaro di Treviso to the north, San Trovaso di Preganziol to the south and Dosson di Casier to the east.
Related topics
Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that in this area there is also the Goppion Caffè company, which produces high-quality coffee.
Conclusions
In short, Frescada is a small but fascinating locality located in the beautiful province of Treviso. If you have the opportunity to visit it, I recommend taking a walk along the Terraglio and tasting a good glass of wine at one of the local taverns, perhaps right where the frasca used to wave.
