Savorgnano del Torre

Welcome to Savorgnano: the hamlet in the Eastern Hills of Friuli

Hello everyone! Today I'm going to talk about Savorgnano, a beautiful hamlet in the municipality of Povoletto, in the province of Udine. Located in the eastern area of the province, Savorgnano has 887 inhabitants and is part of the Eastern Hills of Friuli.

Some history

The hamlet, called ''Seorgnan'' in Friulian language, has ancient origins and dates back to the period dominated by the Romans. Later, like many other areas of Friuli, it was conquered by the Lombards, ruled by King Alboin. Subsequently, the hamlet came under the control of the Serenissima Republic of Venice, until the fall of the Republic itself.
