Territory
The territory of Ponte Nossa extends on both orographic sides of the Val Seriana, at an altitude ranging from 465 meters above sea level in the valley to 1,297 on top of Corno Guazza. It is the first village of the high Val Seriana, thanks to its position on a flat stretch just upstream of the locality of "Ponte del Costone".
The border of the Municipality of Ponte Nossa is easily recognizable thanks to its breathtaking landscapes. It borders Parre to the north, Clusone and Gorno to the east, Barzizza (Gandino) to the southeast, and Casnigo to the south. Finally, to the northwest, the municipal area extends to the Nossa stream.
But it is not only the view that enchants visitors to Ponte Nossa! The municipality shelters both the Nossa, a tributary of the Serio from the right, and the Riso, which flows through the homonymous valley before flowing into the Serio.

From these ironworks, in fact, a flourishing production of linen, woolen fabrics, and paper was born. Over the years, Ponte Nossa has undergone various dominations, including the Venetian and the French ones. In the 19th century, textile production became the main source of income for the town, while paper gradually declined.
