Pogliano Milanese
Welcome to Pogliano Milanese!
Hello everyone! Today I will talk to you about Pogliano Milanese, a town in the metropolitan city of Milan in Lombardy, which I am absolutely in love with. With its inhabitants, it extends along the Olona river in an urban area of strong concentration between Milan and Legnano.
Physical geography
The municipality of Pogliano Milanese is located in compartment 1 of the Milan area and borders the Ticino-Olona area. The territory extends along a longitudinal axis in the northeast-southwest direction and is crossed by the Olona river. Pogliano is located in a baricentric area between Milan and Legnano.
History
The origins of Pogliano are ancient and its name derives from "Publi Agmina", Publius' encampments, who resided in this area. Here, battles were fought against the Cimbri and the Teutons, who were defeated by the Roman army. There are still important archaeological remains that testify to these events. The territory was already a prosperous agricultural village thanks to the cultivation of cereals, the breeding of silk worms, and the cultivation of mulberry trees.
Symbols
The coat of arms and the gonfalon of Pogliano Milanese were granted in 2004 and represent hope for a bright future and faith in the blue of the sky.
