Welcome to Pocapaglia: history, art, and nature of the pearl of Roero

Hello everyone! Today, I'm going to introduce you to Pocapaglia, a town in Piedmont, located in the province of Cuneo and part of the Roero geographical area. With its 3,317 inhabitants, this little village offers a wide variety of monuments, places of interest, natural sites, and much more.

Monuments and places of interest

First of all, you cannot miss the Castle of Pocapaglia, mentioned for the first time in a document by Emperor Otto III in 998. Reconstructed in the 14th century by the Falletti family, the castle suffered serious damage during the French invasion and is now privately-owned.

Among the religious buildings, the Church of Saints George and Donato is one of the most important and is located in the heart of the village. But don't miss the Confraternity of St. Augustine, St. Just, St. George, the Madonna degli Ayrali, and the Holy Trinity, located in the hamlet of Macellai.

For nature lovers, a must-see is represented by the Rocche, an area characterized by geological erosion phenomena that create spectacular landscapes.
