The coat of arms and banner of the municipality were granted by decree of the President of the Republic in 2018. The banner is a white cloth with blue borders. Many historical monuments are part of the artistic heritage of San Marcello Piteglio, including the churches of Santa Caterina and San Biagio in Mammiano. In particular, the church of Santa Caterina was built in the seventeenth century and was inaugurated in 1709 by Bishop Carlo Visdomini Cortigiani. The parish of San Marcello was renovated in 1788 by the Bishop of Pistoia and Prato, Scipione de' Ricci. The church of San Lorenzo in Spignana is another must-see destination for lovers of sacred art.
