Pioltello

Welcome to the Pioltello-Limito station

Hello everyone, today we will talk about the Pioltello-Limito station, one of the most important railway areas in the metropolitan city of Milan.

History

The station was opened in 1846 under the name "Limito". In 1908, its name changed to "Pioltello-Limito". In the 2000s, the station was expanded and improved thanks to the quadrupling of the line and the activation of the suburban railway service. The construction of a new passenger building was inaugurated in 2011.

Pioltello-Limito: history, accidents, services and movement.

Accidents

Unfortunately, the Pioltello-Limito station has suffered two railway accidents in its history. The most recent occurred in 2018, when a regional train from Cremona to Milan Porta Garibaldi derailed at the station's exit. Sadly, three people lost their lives and 46 were injured.

Facilities

The Pioltello-Limito station has two passenger buildings, one of which is historic and dates back to the construction of the line, and one modern building inaugurated in 2011. The railway yard has 4 tracks and three platforms connected by an underpass.

Services

The station has a bar, a newsstand and a post office for passengers.

Movement

The Pioltello-Limito station is served by suburban Milan railway service trains on the S5 and S6 lines, as well as regional and RegioExpress trains between Milan, Brescia, Verona and Bergamo.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the Pioltello-Limito station is an important hub for railway transport in the Milan area. We hope that railway authorities will continue to invest in safety and the expansion of services offered to make the passenger travel experience even better.
