Piobesi d'Alba has an ancient history, with a strong influence from the city of Asti and the family of Tommaso II di Saluzzo in the 14th century. A castle once stood on the hill near the village, now destroyed. Over time, the village became the fiefdom of the Casa Roero, then passed to Carlo Emanuele I of Savoy with the Treaty of Lyon. In 1928, the municipality was merged with Corneliano d'Alba, but in 1946 the municipality of Piobesi was reconstituted.

Symbols

The coat of arms and flag of the municipality were granted by decree of the President of the Republic on September 21, 2011. The flag is a yellow cloth with a blue border.
