The municipality of Alpago was born in 2016 from the merger of three pre-existing municipalities: Farra, Pieve and Puos d'Alpago. The decision to join forces was made after years of discussions and referendums, and led to the creation of a single municipal administration.
Symbols
The coat of arms and the flag of the municipality of Alpago have recently been granted. The flag stands out with white, bordered in blue, while the coat of arms consists of three elements: the dragon of Farra, the cypress of Pieve and the eagle of Puos.

The municipality of Alpago boasts numerous ancient churches that are worth a visit. Among the most important is the Church of Santa Maria del Rosario in Pieve d'Alpago, dating back to the twelfth century and rebuilt after the earthquake of 1873 according to the design of Giuseppe Segusini.
