The area of its hydrological basin includes rocks of various types, including limestone and serpentinite. Its area is 1.21 square kilometers and has a maximum capacity of 550,000 cubic meters. The dam was built with "homogeneous soil" technology and is 20.50 meters high.
History
The reservoir was built in 1963 for irrigation purposes. The construction works were completed in 1964. The dam is managed by the "Consorzio Irriguo Bealerotto Mussi", established in 1961. In 2021, activities related to a large project to expand the water network of Monregalese, which also involves Lake Pianfei, began.
