San Bonico Station was inaugurated on the Piacenza-Bettola Railway on April 21, 1932. In 1965, a committee of the Ministry of Transport for the modernization of public transportation expressed their favorable opinion for the suppression of the railway line. There were two years of battles by the population and various organizations to safeguard the railway, but starting from October 1966, the replacement of railway runs with buses began. San Bonico Station was definitively closed on April 30, 1967.

San Bonico Station was classified by the operator as belonging to category B and, therefore, was equipped with a third-class waiting room. The stop consisted of a passenger building and two tracks that were later dismantled after the closure of the station. The building was then used as a private residence.
