History

The Garzoni were Ghibellines, and therefore opponents of the Guelphs, among whom Florence stood out. In the course of the 14th century, Collodi participated in numerous battles, including that of Montecatini in 1315 and that of Altopascio in 1325. Despite the defeat, the Garzoni managed to maintain their possessions in the area, such as the Rocca and Villa Garzoni.
Geography
The location of the village of Collodi is very particular, as it is located on a very steep hill, which at the time of the Garzoni was necessary to avoid enemy attacks. The village has small houses very close together, arranged on the sides of two triangles. In the lower part of the village stands the Rocca, which houses Villa Garzoni.
