With its 3,204 inhabitants, this small village is an important stopover for those who decide to go to Gubbio or to the sea of Fano in the Marche region. Let's discover its history, economy, monuments and art places, and sports facilities together.

History of Colombella

The village of Colombella has an ancient history linked to the nobles who inhabited it. The ancient castle, still present today and rebuilt during the 17th century, is heritage of the University for Foreigners of Perugia and houses the UNESCO Center for Global Water Assessment (UN-WWAP - United Nations World Water Assessment Program). The church that was inside the castle, dating back to the 13th century, was rebuilt in 1859 thanks to a pact between the future Leo XIII and the Marquis Lodovico Florenzi. It was then expanded and embellished in 1921 thanks to a contribution from Mrs. Caterina Bonucci.
