Persico Dosimo: a municipality in the province of Cremona
Hello everyone! Today I will talk to you about Persico Dosimo, an Italian municipality located in the province of Cremona, in Lombardy. With its 3,389 inhabitants, this small town is rather quiet and extends north of Cremona.
Physical geography
The municipal headquarters are located in Dosimo along the provincial road that connects Cremona with Ostiano, about seven kilometers away from the city. The municipality is composed of several hamlets, including Persichello, the most populous, Persico (Persico Dosimo), Bettenesco, Quistro, and Barbiselle.
The territory of the municipality, flat like most of the province of Cremona, is not crossed by rivers or watercourses of particular importance. However, one can find the Cavo Robecco, an artificial canal that runs alongside the 45 bis Gardesana Occidentale state road. This is the main communication route of the territory in addition to the A21 Highway, which crosses the municipality without any exits within its borders.
History
The municipality of Persico Dosimo was established in 1928 by the merger of the municipalities of Carpaneta with Dosimo and Persico. However, the territory of this municipality has a very ancient history. For example, from the sixteenth to the eighteenth century there existed the municipality of Acqualunga Sant'Abbondio, which in 1757 was included in the municipality of Persico Dosimo.
Symbols
The coat of arms of the Municipality of Persico Dosimo was granted by decree of the president of the Republic on December 8, 2007. The gonfalon is a green and yellow parti flag.
Monuments and places of interest
Villa Calciati
In the territory of Dosimo, there is Villa Calciati, a beautiful hunting residence of the Calciati counts. Today, the Villa is used as a location for receptions and banquets.
"ARCI" Recreational Center (former summer camp)
In the center of the town of Persichello stands the former summer camp of the Ente Opere Assistenziali dating back to the fascist period. Here you can find the Arci Persichello Circle, which adheres to Arci Cremona, the clinic, the dance floor, the playground, the tennis/football field, the Adelio Lazzarinetti municipal library, and the AUSER center "l'Alveare". The main building includes the clinic and the Arci Circle, outside of the latter you can notice the Littoria tower dating back to the fascist period which viewed from above has the shape of the fasces.

Demographic evolution
The municipality of Persico Dosimo has 3,389 inhabitants, and it is interesting to note that over the years the population has increased. In 1921, for example, the municipality had only 2,767 inhabitants, while in 1951 there were already 3,418.
