Percile is a small Italian municipality located in the metropolitan city of Rome, Lazio, with only 218 inhabitants. History
The name of Percile could derive from the Roman gens Porcia, and in the Gallery of Geographic Maps of the Vatican Museums, the town is indicated with the name of Porcile. In the Roman period, a marble stele of a seven-year-old girl, which also recalls various local characters, remains as a testimony. In the tenth century, castles were built to favor the defense of the surrounding towns, and from 1011 to 1275, the municipality passed through various hands.
