History

Prehistory

Archaeological evidence found in the Pennadomo area shows that humans have lived here since the Copper Age.

Middle Ages

In the 12th century, the castle of Pennadomo was 12 miles from Roccamontepiano. In 1320, the value of the town was three ounces, 13 tarì, and 15 grains. In the 14th century, the town was cited for the tithes due from some clerics in the years 1308, 1324, and 326.

Renaissance and Modern Age

In the first half of the 15th century, Pennadomo was a fief of Raimondo d'Annecchino. In the 17th century, it belonged to the Malvini-Malvezzi, dukes of Santa Candida, originally from Bologna and relatives of the Medici of Florence.
