History of Valentino Mazzola

The football team "Valentino Mazzola" has had a long and complex history. Initially, there were few means available to the society to enjoy a dignified football activity. However, thanks to the commitment of the management and the inhabitants of the area, it was possible to build a playing field and purchase what was necessary to compete at the local and regional level. After only three years, in the 1957/58 sports season, the team won the Championship of their group and then conquered the title of Campano Champion of Prima Divisione. Subsequently, due to the lack of adequate infrastructure, the team had to emigrate to Salerno to play their matches on a regulation playing field.

Currently, the highest-level football team in Coperchia is "A.S.D. Honveed Coperchia", playing in the regional championship of Prima Categoria - Girone F. The team's social colors are white and red.
