History

Pasturo has a long history dating back to Roman times: the famous "via Spluga" passed here, which allowed connecting Milan with Lindau through the Spluga Pass. In Alessandro Manzoni's novel "The Betrothed", the village is mentioned as the birthplace of Agnese, the mother of Lucia Mondella.

Symbols

Pasturo's coat of arms and flag are symbols of the beauty and fertility of the territory, depicting a red five-petal flower rooted on the barred gold and red of four pieces. This emblem is present in the Bonacina Heraldic Archive of the 18th century.

In Pasturo, the Church of Sant'Eusebio is located in the main square of the village and houses works by important artists such as Luigi Tagliaferri, degli Aliprandi, and Aloisio Reali.
