Parre
Welcome to Parre: presentation of the town
Hello everyone! Today I want to talk to you about Parre, a beautiful town located in the province of Bergamo, in Lombardy. Parre, called "Par" in the Bergamo dialect, has about 2695 inhabitants and is located on the orographic right side of the river Serio, along the Seriana valley.
Parre is part of the southern Alps called Prealpi Bergamasche and is almost entirely mountainous. The residential nucleus of the capital, located on the southern slopes of Mount Trevasco at an average altitude of about 640 m above sea level, is distributed uniformly and collected around the two original nuclei of "Parre di sotto" and "Parre di sopra". The town has also expanded by incorporating areas such as "Campella", "Costa Erta" and "Valzella" which, for centuries, have been dedicated to agriculture.
The hamlets of Parre
Parre includes several hamlets, each with its peculiar characteristics. The most populous hamlet in the town is "Ponte Selva", located along the State Road 671 of the Seriana Valley that connects Bergamo with Clusone. This area is so close to the town of Ponte Nossa that it is often confused as a hamlet of the latter.
Continuing along the same road towards the upper Seriana valley, you come across the locality of "Campignano", surrounded by meadows and woods, followed by the hamlet of "Sant'Alberto", where there are numerous industrial settlements. Not far from this area, in a slightly elevated position, you will find the small village of "Martorasco".
The administrative boundaries of Parre
The administrative boundaries of Parre are almost entirely defined by natural limits, such as watershed lines, mountain ridges, or watercourses. To the south, the Serio river delimits Parre from Clusone and, further upstream, from Piario. To the west, instead, it is the Nossana stream that separates the municipal competences of Parre from those of Ponte Nossa and Premolo.
Nature around Parre
Parre is immersed in the nature of the Prealpi Bergamasche. The municipal territory develops on the orographic right side of the Seriana valley and is composed of expanses of meadows and patches of woods on the Trevasco and Alino mountains, extensions of the Cima Vaccaro. Moreover, numerous mountain farms and huts, once used by herdsmen, are still present in the municipal territory.
Conclusions
In conclusion, Parre is a town immersed in the nature of the Prealpi Bergamasche, with a residential nucleus collected around the two original nuclei of "Parre di sotto" and "Parre di sopra". The hamlets of "Ponte Selva", "Campignano", "Sant'Alberto" and "Martorasco" add further variety and character to the territory. The natural beauties of the area are represented by the Seriana valley, the Trevasco and Alino mountains, and the numerous mountain farms and huts present in the territory. I recommend visiting Parre, a town with unspoiled nature!
