The history of Coloreto dates back to ancient times: in 962, King Otto I of Saxony recognized the authority of Bishop Oberto over the city, as well as 3 miles of surrounding land, including Coloreto. In 1182, the Church of San Biagio, located in this small village, was mentioned for the first time in history.
Over the centuries, Coloreto has undergone many vicissitudes: in 1317, for example, it was devastated by the troops of Giberto III from Correggio. After the Unification of Italy, it became part of the municipality of Marore and then, in 1870, of the municipality of San Lazzaro Parmense, which in turn was suppressed in 1943.

It was built in Romanesque style and dedicated to San Desiderio, but then rebuilt at the end of the 15th century and renamed after San Biagio di Sebaste.
