Parenti
Welcome to Parenti!
Hello everyone! Today I want to talk to you about a small town in my region, Calabria, that is particularly close to my heart: Parenti. This little village is located in the province of Cosenza and is home to about 2000 people.
Society: history and daily life
A curious fact about the name of the town: in Calabrian dialect, Parenti is pronounced "I Parìanti", which derives from the word "parent" and refers to the inhabitants of the village. Life in Parenti is peaceful and serene, there is a strong sense of community and plenty of opportunities to socialize.
Demographic evolution
Now let's talk about demographic evolution. In the second half of the 20th century, Parenti saw a decline in population, mainly due to migration towards larger urban centers. Fortunately, in recent years there has been an increase in births and a return of those who had emigrated.
Administration: twinning
Speaking of administration, the Mayor of Parenti is promoting various initiatives to enhance the cultural and tourist activities of the town. In addition, the municipality has twinned with a town in Normandy, France, to work together in the tourism and cultural field.
Notes
Finally, a couple of quick notes. The territory of Parenti is crossed by the Savuto river, which offers breathtaking landscapes and refreshing swims in the summer. Furthermore, the center of the town hosts a beautiful mother church, located in the main square which is situated at an altitude of 798 meters above sea level.
