Ialmicco
Welcome to Ialmicco!
Hello everyone! Today I will talk to you about Ialmicco, a small hamlet in Palmanova, in the province of Udine. I don't know about you, but I love discovering new places, especially if they have an interesting history. And that's exactly what I'm going to talk to you about: the history of Ialmicco.
History
Ialmicco has a long and varied history. In 1420, after the fall of the Patriarchal State of Aquileia, the village passed to the lords of Gorizia, before becoming part of the Kingdom of Austria in 1500. But the story doesn't end there! In 1866, Ialmicco became part of the Kingdom of Italy and, until 1918, it was just a few hundred meters from the border with the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Since then, this small village has followed the fate of the rest of the municipality of Palmanova.
Monuments and places of interest
If you're wondering what there is to see in Ialmicco, rest assured that there is no shortage of monuments and places of interest. One of these is the Church of Santa Maria Maddalena di Palmanova. Built in the first quarter of the 18th century, the church was restored following the fire of 1848. If you are interested in architecture and sacred art, you can't miss it!
