History of Calcio Padova: tradition, success, and the white and maroon striped jersey.

The Biancoscudati jersey

The classic Padova jersey is white with red details. On the chest is the city's coat of arms, a red cross on a white background, hence the nickname "biancoscudati" for its players. These social colors have been chosen since the beginning of the club's history and embody the passion and affection of Padova's supporters.

From the beginnings to the post-war era

Associazione Calcio Padova was founded on January 29, 1910, at the headquarters of Rari Nantes Patavium, initially choosing white and red as its social colors. In the Veneto Promozione season 1912-1913, Padova participated in the Veneto championship with other teams such as Petrarca and Udinese but lost the decisive last game in Udine, postponing their promotion aspirations to the following championship. In 1919-1920, the captain of the radio corps, Rino Corso Fougier, also played as a defender, flying in the 87th Airplanes Squadron.

The team becomes one of the best in Veneto

During the interwar period, Padova became one of the best teams in Veneto, regularly qualifying for the semi-finals of Alta Italia. The biancoscudata formation achieved several good placements in the Prima Categoria starting from 1914-1915 Veneto-Emilia Romagna.

Padova has a long history marked by remarkable sporting achievements. Thanks to its tradition and the passion of its fans, this team has always managed to stay present in the national and international football scene. The Biancoscudati jersey and the city coat of arms represent the strength and pride of the city of Padova, and the team's sporting successes will remain in its supporters' memories for a long time.
