History: From Claterna to Papal Rule

Later, Ozzano was included in the Canton of Castel San Pietro Terme within the Imola District of the Reno Department. Ozzano di Sopra was the main municipality, which extended to the surrounding area with many interesting locations like Varignana di Sopra and Ozzano di Sotto.
With the restoration of papal rule, Ozzano di Sopra became a community, including Ciagnano, Monte Armato, and Settefonti, while Ozzano di Sotto was subordinated. With a decree in 1862, the municipality assumed the name of Ozzano dell'Emilia.
