Physical Geography

Territory

Ome is located in the northeast of Franciacorta, a hilly area characterized by its valleys and countryside. The town is surrounded by woods and hills, where vineyards and olive groves are present. Two streams, the Gandovere and the Martignago, cross the municipal territory.

History

Symbols

Ome has a particular coat of arms, although it does not have a grant decree. It is composed of a sky field with a tower in natural colors, merlata of three at the guelfa, founded on green terrain. To the right and left of the tower there are two natural vine stocks, pampinosi of green and fruitful of clusters of red wine. The whole is surmounted by a golden thunderbolt, emerging from the head and plummeting zigzagging on the tower. The exterior ornaments are from the municipality. The banner is a blue cloth.

The population of Ome is constantly growing. Until 2020, the number of inhabitants of the town was around 3148 units.

The management of Ome is entrusted to the mayor, who, with the help of the municipal council, takes care of administering the town.
