The history of Nughedu Santa Vittoria

The area where Nughedu Santa Vittoria now stands has been inhabited since prehistoric times. In particular, the presence of archaeological sites from the nuragic and pre-nuragic periods, such as domus de janas and megaliths, has been found.

From the Middle Ages, the village belonged to the Giudicato of Arborea and was part of the Parte Barigadu curatorship. In 1420, with the fall of the Giudicato, Nughedu Santa Vittoria came under Aragonese rule and became a feudal estate. In 1773, it was incorporated into the Marchesato of San Vittorio, granted along with Bidonì and Sorradile to the Todde Family. Later, in 1839, it was redeemed from the Pes, the last feudal lords, with the suppression of the feudal system.
