History

The village was named Nuracogomo during the judiciary period and was incorporated into the Marghine curatorship in the Torres jurisdiction. At the fall of the judiciary, it passed to the Arborea jurisdiction, to then become an integral part of the Marchesato di Oristano. After the definitive defeat of the Arborenses in 1478, Noragugume passed under Aragonese dominion and, in the 18th century, was included in the Marghine marchesato.

In 1839, with the abolition of the feudal system, the municipality of Noragugume was redeemed by the Tellez-Giron, who were the owners of the fief for many years.

The coat of arms of the Municipality of Noragugume was granted with the decree of the President of the Republic of March 3, 2005. The symbol of the uprooted tree refers to the ancient arborean flag, dating back to the 13th century, while the sheep represents the activity of pastoralism.
