Hello friends, today I'm going to talk to you about Turin, a wonderful Italian city located in the Piedmont region. History

Turin has a two-thousand-year-old history, likely founded in the 3rd century BC by the Taurini and transformed into a Roman colony by Augustus. After the Ostrogothic domination, it became the capital of the Duchy of Turin and subsequently came under the nominal lordship of the House of Savoy. In the 16th century, Turin became the capital of the Duchy of Savoy and from 1720 was the capital of the Kingdom of Sardinia. In the 19th century, Turin was the first capital of the Kingdom of Italy.

Inside the Turin area, there are areas and buildings included in two UNESCO-protected properties: some palaces and areas part of the circuit of Savoy Residences in Piedmont (World Heritage) and the area of the hills of the Po River (Biosphere Reserve).

Furthermore, it is an important center for publishing, banking and insurance, information technology, cinema, food and wine, fashion, and artificial intelligence.

Turin hosted the International Exposition in 1911 and the XX Winter Olympic Games in 2006. Currently, it is the venue for the ATP Finals since 2021 and the Eurovision Song Contest 2022. Turin is the birthplace of some of the most important symbols of "Made in Italy" in the world, such as vermouth, Gianduiotto chocolate, breadsticks, and espresso coffee. In addition, the city is an important center for art, culture, and science.
