Noarna: The Story of a Trentino Hamlet

Hello everyone! Today I want to talk to you about Noarna, a small hamlet located in the municipality of Nogaredo in the province of Trento. If you enjoy history and culture, this article is for you!

History

Noarna was once an independent municipality. It was established in 1920 following the annexation of Trentino to the Kingdom of Italy. Only in 1929 was the hamlet incorporated into the municipality of Villa Lagarina, before becoming a fraction of Nogaredo in 1955.

Noarna, the story of a municipality that became a hamlet: monuments and places of interest.

Monuments and Places of Interest

Despite its small size, Noarna is rich in historical and cultural places of interest. One of these is the Castle of Noarna, dating back to the 11th century. Its imposing structure, dominant over the small hamlet, has undergone numerous interventions over the centuries, but has retained its beauty and the charm of the past.

Another place of interest not to be missed is the church of San Valentino, located in the center of the village. Built in 1636, this church reflects the typical style of Trentino religious architecture from the Baroque period.

Notes

For those who would like to deepen their knowledge of the history of Noarna, I recommend reading the book "Noarna - una Comunità del Trentino tra Otto e Novecento" written by Professor Marco Cugusi.

Other Projects

Noarna has also inspired some literary works. In particular, the book "Castel Noarna - Leggende e Verità" by Gianfranco Alpini tells the stories and traditions related to this wonderful castle.
