Physical geography
Moniego is located northeast of the capital and is one of the three districts that make up the town of Noale.
History
Moniego has an ancient history dating back to Roman and medieval times. The village was divided into several minor locations, such as Ronchi, Boscarone, and Fosse. During the Middle Ages, Moniego had a fortified center and a parish, but its fortification was destroyed by Ezzelino da Romano in 1234 and was never rebuilt. The center of village life then became the Pieve of Santa Maria Assunta.
Monuments and places of interest
If you visit Moniego, you cannot miss the Church of Santa Maria Annunziata, a 14th century building. The church houses many works of art and is flanked by a tall 16th century bell tower.
